Ex Machina

On the 6th of May I saw two movies. "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Ex Machina". James and I have been wanting to see this movie for months. There are 2 words I have on the top of my head for "Ex Machina" and that's visual and smart. The reason why I was so interested in this movie is because it's both a sci-fi and Independent film with an original story and the story is very good. I really enjoyed it a lot and I was very happy I finally got to see it. The things I love about "Ex Machina" is it's story, it's location, it's sets, it's effects, it's music and it's actors. It was shot in Valldalen, Norway and it's an interesting and nice location for a project like this. The sets I would describe as artsy judging by the way they look. Like the stairs Caleb goes down in when he first enters Nathan's house has this glass around it for a wall and you can see the outside. The house Nathan lives in is cool, that's one of the places I would love to live. The music score is nice and relaxing. I love listening to the soundtrack. The robot effects are amazing and life like. There's a scene where Caleb tells Ava that she should choose what she draws and she asks why and he says "I'm interested in what you choose." I think that's how the line went I can't fully remember, but it was something like that. The way I would describe that scene is clever because I like the way Caleb is challenging Ava by having her choose what to draw and his answer is that he's interested in what she decides. That's what I was thinking while I was watching that scene. Ava says to Caleb the same line only her subject is different. The actors I know well, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and rising star Alicia Vikander. The scene I find the most humorous is when Nathan is telling Caleb he can have sex with Ava and describing how it works. I can imagine how that would look like. My cousin Barb told me she liked the ending and that told me it has a happy ending. The ending was a little different from what I was expecting because it ends with one person instead of 2, but it was a happy ending. "Ex Machina" is a sci-fi, a thriller, an escape movie and an Independent film all together. My rating on it is 5 out of 5 stars. Ex Machina is a must see movie. I would love to see it again.
